What is the difference between the new Honeywell programmable thermostat and other programmable thermostats? Why would I need a new thermostat when I already have a programmable thermostat?
The Honeywell programmable thermostat also has a built-in radio receiver, which allows BGE to send a cycling command to help control electricity demand during periods of peak electricity use. If you already have a programmable thermostat you can choose to have the Smart Switch installed instead of the Honeywell programmable thermostat.
