What is the difference between the MSc Sport and Exercise Psychology and the MSc Psychology of Sport and Exercise?

In terms of the content, nothing. But in terms of the career implications, there is an important difference that needs to be considered before applying. The MSc Psychology of Sport and Exercise is accredited by British Psychological Society (BPS), but the MSc Sport and Exercise Psychology is not accredited. This is an important consideration for those who aspire to ultimately use the title “Sport and Exercise Psychologist”, which is protected by law. In order to use the title, or even provide sport and exercise psychology-related services, individuals must apply to the Health Professions Council (HPC). At present, the HPC will only accept the BPS’s Qualification in Sport and Exercise Psychology (completion of both Stage One and Two). Stage One is the equivalent to a BPS accredited MSc (see question 17 for more information about Stage Two).
