What is the difference between the Merkur 34C, 700 and Vision?
The difference between the 34C and the Futur 700 is that the Futur is adjustable, i.e. you can adjust the angle of the blade against the skin at six different levels so that you can obtain a closer and closer shave the more used you become to the razor. In other words, you start on the first level and can then advance if you wish. The Futur is larger, heavier and more solidly constructed. The 34C is a very fine razor that will go a long way, but if you want that bit extra and want a more advanced shave then the Futur is the obvious choice. The Vision 2000 razor is manufactured to lower tolerances and is, quite simply, a higher quality product than the Futur 700. The Vision is larger, heavier and more solid compared with the Futur – a miracle of precision. It can take some time to get used to the razor, but a good tip is to tilt it at an angle of around 30 degrees to the skin and not to press on – let the weight of the razor do the work.
