There is no difference in the first two years and you will be allowed to transfer from one to the other depending upon your performance after you arrive. The BSc degree is a three-year course and includes a research project in the final year. The MChem degree is a four-year course and includes advanced practicals in the third year and an in-depth research project in the final year.
