What is the difference between the MA in Social and Sustainable Management and an MBA?

The MA in Social and Sustainable Management is for recent graduates with liberal arts, science or engineering majors and no significant work experience. Business and business-related majors are not eligible to pursue the SSM program. It is not an MBA program, but it is a major stepping stone towards a future MBA degree by fulfilling the business background required by MBA programs that a business graduate would have already completed. Pursuing an MBA is generally not an option for recent college graduates. MBA programs are for people with full-time, post-graduate work experience who are seeking increased responsibilities in organizations. SPU’s MBA is a part-time, working professional program for college graduates possessing more than 1-year of post-graduate work experience (our average is about 5-years).
