What is the difference between the local humane society and local animal control/shelter offices?
Animal control/shelter offices are county funded and staffed, they are not non-profit organizations, are not tax deductible and are overseen by the county government. Local “humane society” organization are typically non-profit organizations that exist on donations and volunteers. Through donations, some have paid staff members.
