What is the difference between the liquorice balm and the Liquorice Gel and when should I use them?
The short answer is that the liquorice & Melissa Gel is for treating cold sores once they have arrived whereas the Licorice balm is a preventative measure. In the trial we carried out on Liquorice balm we found that it didn’t really help much once you had a cold sore, but was amazing at preventing them. People who use it often find that they have far far fewer cold sores and often hardly any at all. We have created Liquorice and Melissa Gel to help people when they actually have an outbreak. It contains a concentrated amount of liquorice and also Melissa extracts which has been found to help cold sores expanding and spreading. We hope that if you have a cold sore and apply this gel it will help prevent any others appearing at the same time and shorten the length of the outbreak.
