WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE GREEN JOBS GREEN NY PROGRAM AND THE GREEN RESIDENTIAL BUILDING PROGRAM?
NYSERDA has been tasked by the Legislature and Governor to administer the GJGNY initiative and Green Residential Building Program and both will begin in 2010. While both are new tools for NYSERDA to promote energy efficiency in New York State, they are quite different and targeted to different sectors of the building market. Here is a breakdown of the key differences: • GJGNY will be available to owners of existing 1-4 family homes through the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR (HPwES) program. The program will offer loans (up to $13,000) through a state-operated revolving loan fund for building energy efficiency retrofits and repairs.
