What is the difference between the filmic style, and content of a television drama?
Filmic style is generally how they shoot the scenes and edit them together. Take a look at an episode of CSI. The show is dark when dealing with death, bright when dealing with life, etc. It is edited in a way so that things are fast paced and give you an edge of your seat feeling because they want you to feel that things are happening very quickly. The content is the story that is happening, the plot… the filmic style goes hand-in-hand with the content to enhance the story. If a filmmaker is doing their job then you can’t tell the two apart.
