What is the difference between the Federal Halocarbon Regulations and the Federal Halocarbon Regulations, 2003?
The purpose of replacing the Federal Halocarbon Regulations with the FHR 2003 was to implement new initiatives under Canadas Ozone Layer Protection Program and to address various administrative issues in the Federal Halocarbon Regulations. The FHR 2003 is similar to the repealed Federal Halocarbon Regulations, with the exception of the implementation of new regulatory measures to achieve an orderly transition from CFCs and Halons to alternative substances and technologies to reflect Canadas Strategy to Accelerate the Phase-Out of CFC and Halon Uses and to Dispose of the Surplus Stocks.
