What is the difference between the Escondido Village Studios and Rains apartments designated as the academic-year contracts and those with the full-year contracts?
Apartments located in Studio buildings 1 & 2 and Rains buildings 201, 202 and 206 are designated as having a shorter, academic-year contract. That means the contract spans from autumn term to spring term and does not include a summer contract. There are conference programs taking place in those buildings during that time. Students who wish to stay in on-campus housing for summer can apply during the spring quarter for the Summer Housing Allocation. Student who live in academic-year contracts at the time that they are applying will receive a priority to the same type of apartment for the summer term.
