What is the difference between the EEG and QEEG tests?
The EEG and QEEG are two separate tests. The EEG is recorded in the office and typically takes about 35-45 minutes. There are occasions, however, where the test can take up to an hour. This will depend on what the diagnosis is, what is being seen in the EEG recording at the time it is being recorded, and what the doctor has ordered as far as special instructions. The QEEG is the portion of the EEG that is analyzed after the patient has completed the EEG recording.
