What is the difference between the different topics: Visual Basic, Visual C#, and .NET?
A9. The extensive enhancements that have been made to the major development tools that we use make up the most recent version of Microsoft Visual Studio, these development tools are known collectively as the .NET. It will no longer include what have been called “language islands”. The Visual Studio Common Language Runtime makes development “language-neutral”. Now there is much more that is common than different between the languages. Our group will embrace all aspects of the .NET development platform as a whole. We will concentrate on those developers who choose Visual Basic and Visual C# as the languages with which to code. These are emphasized in both our Presentation Meetings and Labs.
