What is the difference between the data I see in nySTARTs “Assessment Reports” versus its “Enrollment Module”?
Under “Assessment Reports”, students are grouped based upon the test year and grade level of the test taken, and the school in which the student was enrolled at the time of the test. For instance, if you were to look at 2006 Grade 4 English language arts (ELA) results, you would see results for students who took the January 2006 Grade 4 ELA test while enrolled in your school or district. Under the “Enrollment Module”, students are grouped based upon enrollment grade for a particular school year. For instance, once 2006-07 enrollment data is available, you will be able to look at 2006 test results for all of your current Grade 4 students—most of whom probably took the Grade 3 test, but some of whom likely took no test (e.g., new transfers from out-of-state), and others of whom may have taken another test (e.g., a student who is now repeating the 4th grade will likely have taken the Grade 4 test).
