What is the difference between the Chateaugay Lakes Association and the Chateaugay Lakes Foundation?
The Chateaugay Lakes Association was formed in 1947 as a membership association of lake residents to address issues of common concern. It has conducted a variety of activities over the years including conservation planning studies, water quality and septic system testing, and boating safety courses, as well as social and recreational events. The Chateaugay Lakes Foundation has been formed as an environmental protection fund to provide the financial resources necessary for large-scale projects such as the milfoil control campaign. The two organizations will work closely together to address the key priorities of the Lakes.
