What is the difference between the Centre for Applied Linguistics English support classes and the sessions organised as part of the Warwick Skills Certificate?
The main difference is that our classes focus directly on your LANGUAGE needs. We do, of course, help you to develop skills such as reading, writing, speaking and listening – but the main focus is on the language needs of international students when using those skills. Also, the Warwick Skills Certificate is intended for an undergraduate audience; our classes are also attended by postgraduate and research students, as well as undergraduates. NB. Please note that as from Autumn 2009, the Warwick Skills Certificate is no longer being offered to new (first year) undergraduate students. Existing undergraduate students (second year and above) who have already taken some modules will, however, be eligible to register for other courses, in the usual way.
