What is the difference between the card games 500 and spades?

WHen playing spades, spades are always trump and you and your partner bid how many tricks you think you can take. When playing 500, its partners and you do not need to bid, but if you do, you bid what suit and how many tricks you can take with that suit being the trump. If no one bids, the hand is passed and redealt. Say if your partner bids 7 tricks in diamonds, the person after passes, you can bid in something else or up the bid to 8. In order for someone to bid over you they must bid higher. 500 is a complex game, much more than spades…so you may wanna look up all the rules!
