What is the difference between the Candlelight Concert and the Vespers Concert?
These are the two types of concerts that I will be giving. The idea of the candlelight concert was taken from an event that I was able to take part in Finland several years ago. On one night the local church opened its doors for the whole community and had several of the worlds finest euphonium soloists preform a concert, in the summer twilight, full of reflective and powerfully moving music. The lights were dimmed, there were lighted candles around the audience, and the music touched everyone in the sanctuary, though most of the music performed was secular. What I want to do with this concert is have a performance open to the entire community, and help the audience break the monotony and routine of the week. I want everyone to see and feel everything around them little differently, and maybe the community itself will benefit from this benefit concert.
