What is the difference between the breast stroke and butterfly stroke?

Breaststroke: Frog-like kick (sort of like the scissor kick). Arms in streamline, then you pull them to your sides, around, and back into streamline to glide. Butterfly: MUCH harder. Dolphin kick is used. Keep legs together and move them in a mermaid-like way. Arms are the difficult part. They swing up out of the water at your sides, over your head, and back in the water. Then pull them from your head down to your sides. Basically, your shoulders are pulling your body weight forward out of the water, which is why it’s so hard. Watching slow swimmers or slow motion videos will make them look different. In the Olympics, the swimmers are so fast that the strokes do look the same. Hope I helped!!!
