We get asked this question every day, it’s really comparing apples & oranges. The white Super Sterasyl ceramic filters are the original filters from British Berkefeld. They are still the standard for most water filtration systems today. They have a silver impregnated inner core that acts as an anti bacterial by inhibiting bacterial and microbial growth as well as an activated carbon core. They filter out most contaminants to undetectable levels, including water borne bacterias (except MTBE’s – methyl tertiary butyl ether). The Super Sterasylâ„¢ ceramic filter elements remove suspended solids, parasites, cysts and pathogenic bacteria (>99.99%) and reduce organic chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, organic solvents, trihalomethanes, SOCs, VOCs and foul tastes and odors without removing healty beneficial minerals in your water. These filters are cleanable and with care should give you approximately 6,000 gallo
