What is the difference between the AY-DV276MQ and the AY-DV276AMQ tape?

The AMQ (Advanced Master Quality) is a newer version of the older, MQ (Master Quality) tape. The AMQ tape acknowledges use for HDV footage as well as standard DV footage while the MQ does not mention HDV. Both of these tapes are an excellent Master Quality tape that will provide you with less dropouts compared to standard DV tapes. With their ‘Advanced’ line of tape, Panasonic boasts even fewer dropouts and minimized head clogging due to their proprietary lubricant technology. So, in the end, if you need a good Master Quality tape for DV or HDV footage I would recommend the newer, more advanced AMQ tape at a much cheaper price!
