What is the difference between the Aura and the Clark tactile transducers?

• The Aura units have a resonant frequency around 45Hz. The old Clarks had a 550Hz resonant frequency and operated below resonance just like the BagEnd subs. The new Clark transducers have a 65Hz resonance peak. With the Aura transducers and their kin, this resonance is manifested as a very peaky frequency response centered at 45Hz. If fidelity is important to you, then the Aura units need serious equalization. The Clarks are more expensive and have a much flatter frequency response. Clark Synthesis claims that the bandwidth of their product is flat (-7 dB) from 10Hz to 100kHz and drops about 12dB from 10Hz to 1Hz. I have a hard time believing this claim, if the mass on the spring physics model still holds then this should be a displacement (Xmax) limited problem at the low frequencies. Drop an octave and now the Xmax excursion limited output should drop by -12dB! So if through clever engineering the Clarks are really flat down to 10Hz, then it is only at extremely low and basically un
