What is the difference between the Atari 2600 Systems?
Atari 2600 Systems were made in many shapes and sizes. The earliest systems are sought after by collectors and often are referred to as “heavy sixers”. This is because they had heavy shielding inside and a thicker heavier case than the systems that came later. Not all 6 switch systems are “heavy sixers”. The 4 switch systems were made later, first in woodgrain than all black. The last version is referred to as the Atari 2600 Junior.
