What is the difference between the Anglican Church and the Roman Catholic Church?
The Anglican Church is often said to be the closest Protestant Church to the Roman Catholic Church. We are both liturgical, and have many similar practices and beliefs. However, we also have many differences in worship and belief which is why we are still Protestant.. Perhaps the largest difference is that Anglicans hold that Scripture and not the church is the supreme authority in the church. While Rome believes the opposite. Rome believes that the Pope is the head of the entire church while Anglicans and all other denominations do not adhere to that teaching.
