What is the difference between the 85 and 85.5 SVO?
A. The ‘85.5 SVO marked a production change for Ford. The intake manifold was changed, the injector size was increased from 30lb to 35lb injectors. The EEC IV processor was changed for improved performance (known as a “PE” processor). The exhaust was changed from a single outlet to a dual outlet and the fuel pump system was changed to a single in-tank pump from a dual pump system. The ‘85.5 SVO also received the flush mount headlights but still had no third brake light (an easy way to distinguish an ‘85.5 from an ’86). These are just some of the easily noticeable changes.
