What is the difference between tha Ka and Ku band ?
The Ku band (Drivesat) uses frequencies between 10.7 and 12.75 GHz in downlink and between 13.75 and 14.5 GHz in uplink. The Ka band (KaSat) is used on the satellite HOT BIRD 6 and covers the band 19.7 to 20.2 GHz in downlink and from 29.5 to 30.5 GHz in uplink. In Ka band, the Skyplex Data technology supports small diameter antennas in uplink and downlink. For what concerns W3A in Europe, Skyplex Data services use the frequencies band from 18.1 to 18.4 GHz in uplink (DBS band) and 10.7 to 10.95 GHz in downlink mode.
