What is the difference between TFT (Thought Field Therapy) and the “newer” EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)?
Several people who have taken Dr. Callahan’s extensive training have simply changed the name and called it by their own name. You will come across this from time to time. Others like the “developer” of EFT have taken Dr. Callahan’s training and modified it and then called it by a new name. In the system known as EFT, all of the points discovered by Dr. Callahan are tapped over and over, and often, this can be effective. However, I have found it bores most clients because it can take so much longer and that it still incorporates techniques such as affirmations which have been long done away with in Thought Field Therapy because they have been shown to be unnecessary and cumbersome. Also techniques known as reversal correction techniques are done automatically with this technique and, as a clinician, you can miss valuable information about your client by having them perform these techniques indiscriminately.
