What is the difference between TESOL, TEFL, TESL, and ESL?
TESOL stands for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages , while TESL means teaching English as a second language, whereas TEFL means Teaching English as a Foreign Language. All of the above qualifications are equally valid. ESL refers to English as a Second Language, or ESL schools which specialize in teaching English to speakers of another language, while the previous three acronyms refer to teacher-training qualifications.
