What is the difference between synthetic and non synthetic Vitamin C?
Synthetic Vitamin C is usually made from genetically modified corn. Our bodies are unable to fully absorb this Vitamin C due to the lack of cofactors and buffers that are present when consuming Vitamin C from a food source. Non-synthetic Vitamin C occurs naturally in many foods. Acerola berries contain one of the highest concentrations of Vitamin C. Naturally Nova Scotia’s Acerola products are made with the juice of Acerola berries. This juice has been low temperature dried so as not to destroy the Vitamin C or any of the naturally occurring buffers that aid in absorption.
