What is the difference between SWIM and CHAIN?
CHAIN relates to improvements in the quality and integrity of aeronautical information, as included within the scope of ICAO Annex 15. System-Wide Information Management (SWIM) relates to a wider scope of information, encompassing all information required to support flight operations and not just that included within Annex 15. That said, the principles laid down within the CHAIN guidance material are equally applicable within the wider scope of SWIM and, indeed, outside the aviation sector.
