Hi Equus, If I understand you right; you are a beginner in each sport and want to know how the compare from a beginner’s standpoint. I’ve been doing all four sports (and more such as paragliding, snowkiting, speedsailing…) for more than ten years but I can still tell you how it compares for beginners and this is a very different answer as how it compares for experts… This compares how hard it is for a beginner to reach intermediate level: A) DIFFICULTY: 1. Surfing: is the most difficult as it is the only sport that does not rely on traction (boat or wind). You’ll have to learn perfect timing to catch the wave, great balance to stand up on the board, make your first bottom turn and then really ride the wave (as opposed to riding the waves foam/white water). Now, of course catching your first “wave” while the instructor pushed your 10feet longboard on a small shore wave will seem easy. But actually reaching intermediate level will take a lot of time and exercises. 2. Windsurfing: see
