What is the difference between Stop and Pause?
The “Stop” button stops the song or event playing. Hitting the “Start” button after “Stop” will take you to the next song or event in the schedule, much like the “Skip” button. The “Pause” button pauses the song or event playing and will resume playing, right from where you paused it when you click it again, or you release the pause by clicking “Play”.
For most media with a stop or pause option, it will determine whether your media saves your place or completely stops and returns to the beginning:
- Pause media: Selecting "pause" will freeze your media where you are currently watching or listening. You can hit play to resume or sometimes hit pause again to release the pause option.
- Stop media: Selecting "stop" will end the media playing. Unless there is a feature that saves the place from where you last played, you would need to find the place manually.
Pausing a torrent temporarily halts its connections and keeps it in memory. Use Pause if you only need to stop an active torrent for a few seconds, while Stopping a torrent releases all its resources and starts the next torrent if necessary. Use Stop if you intend on stopping a torrent for an extended period of time, or wish to prevent it from being started.
The ‘Stop’ button stops the current song from playing. Hitting the ‘Play’ button after ‘Stop’ will take you to the next song that My Classic FM has lined up for you, much like the ‘Skip’ button. The ‘Pause’ button pauses the song and will resume playing, right from where you paused it, when you click the ‘Play’ button.
