What is the difference between stock, semi-custom and custom cabinets?
A. Stock cabinets are mass-produced and come in a standard range of sizes, namely in 3″ increments; and in order to adjust to required sizes, fillers of appropriate widths are added, or an appropriate combination is searched. Semi-custom are also stock cabinets; its sole advantage is that some cabinets are manufactured to size as needed, but essentially they are manufactured as lower end cabinets like stock cabinets. Custom cabinets are manufactured to accurate sizes and specifications. They are of better quality and construction, therefore more robust and more detailed and can solve design problems that may not be solved with stock or semi-stock cabinets. Q.
