What is the difference between sterling silver jewelry and silver plated pewter? Why the price difference?

We pride ourselves in knowing detailed content and product care for all of our items, as well as pass along a product care card to ensure its proper maintenance. Items that are sterling silver are solid .925 silver through and through. They will tarnish with air exposure and time, however, they are easily polished in order to regain its original color. Items without any semi-precious stones can be dipped in sterling silver cleaner (available at most drugstores or jewelry stores) or polished with a sterling silver cloth. If your item contains any semi-precious stones, DO NOT dip them in silver cleaner as it will ruin the stone itself. You must hand polish around the stones or if you are able, dip only the silver while protecting the stone(s).
