What is the difference between Stanislaus Community Foundation and United Way?
While our organizations share a dedication to serving the people of Stanislaus County, we do so in distinct, often complementary ways. Put simply, United Way raises funds for current community needs. They determine the select family of agencies they fund up to three years in advance. The Community Foundation serves donors and builds an endowment for current and future community needs. We pool and invest our funds for future growth, and we help donors select the causes that matter to them most. The Community Foundation helps meet needs in the community as they emerge, and we provide funding to multiple community agencies throughout the year.
