What is the difference between Solaris Containers and the Trusted Solaris Operating System?

0

Trusted Solaris has certain extra features, such as labeling and the removal of an all powerful root, that allow it to meet the very stringent B1 certification requirements. In Common Criteria terminology, this is LSPP, or Labeled Security Protection Profile. With Solaris 10, some of these features are built into the base operating system, some of which were used to build Solaris Containers. The next release of Trusted Solaris will actually build on new things Solaris Containers introduced. The Solaris Containers technology is about creating virtual environments for applications, whereas Trusted Solaris is about having a B1/LSPP-certified operating system.
