What is the difference between SOHO, TriBeCa, and Greenwich Village (other than geographic)?

Well, the main difference is the style of buildings. In other words, Greenwich Village is, and always has been, a residential neighborhood, full of small, mostly brownstone-style, apartment buildings, while TriBeCa and SoHo were always commercial neighborhoods full of factory and warehouse buildings that people have since converted into living spaces. So a walk around G.V. is like a walk around a residential neighborhood, and a walk around the other two feels more like a visit to a commercial neighborhood, that’s all.
