What Is the Difference Between Smooth & Cardiac Muscle?
The term “muscular system” generally refers to skeletal muscles, which is the group of muscles responsible for moving or positioning your body. Yet, the importance of other types of muscle tissue, such as cardiac and smooth muscle, cannot be over-emphasized. In spite of their many similarities, cardiac and smooth muscle have differences worth noting, particularly with regard to their appearance, location, innervation and actions.
