What is the difference between silkscreen and digital printing?
Silkscreen and digital printing are the two most popular print options at Diversified Systems. Both are done on our fully automated, state-of-the-art printing presses. Digital printing is CMYK process printing that uses a heat-transfer to adhere the image directly to the disc. In contrast, silkscreen printing is done by pushing ink through a very fine mesh screen. Digital printing is typically used for full-color printing on runs from 100 to 3,500 pieces; silkscreen printing is used for spot colors where PMS color matching is a concern, or on very large runs of CMYK printed discs. Your sales representative will help you determine which method is best for you.
