What is the difference between service points and priority points?

0

A. Service points are used to determine appropriate pay levels (Level I, Level II, or Level III) while priority points determine priority for appointment purposes. (See Definitions, Collective Agreement.) Service points include all teaching credits earned at the University, and not just the credits earned in the department, in which the individual holds the right of first refusal. Only Sessional lecturers who hold ROFR on a course will have priority points and thus be included on the Departmental-Appointment Priority list.
