What is the difference between scholarly and popular articles?
Scholarly material is intended to provide research findings to professors and students that can stimulate discussions. The authors of these articles are experts in their field. Scholarly sources are accurate and detailed based on the results of tests or in-depth research in a subject area. Scholarly articles always have sources documented in a bibliography or works cited. Popular material is designed to entertain rather than inform and is intended for everyone to read. Popular sources use a lot of illustrations and exciting headlines in easy to understand language, and usually do not document sources.
