What is the difference between sand, clay and silt?

I think you can find most of these answers on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org But anyway: sand is more solid and in bigger particles. Clay is less solid and in coarse particles but very sedimental. Silt is found on along banks. It is meant to be very fertile since it is composed of washed up minerals from upstream. e.g. limestone, composte sediments, etc. Alluvium is like silt but it is washed along the shores and river deltas near the river’s mouths. Some of the stuff also comes from upstream from the river. I think it’s white. Can’t be sure though. very fertile though.
