What is the difference between rotary hammer drill bits SDS-Plus and SDS-Max?

SDS-Plus is the most common SDS shank design developed by Bosch, it has a 10 mm (0.394″) diameter shank and is not interchangeable with SDS-Max. SDS-Max has a much larger shank diameter of 18mm (0.709″) which is designed for hammer drills over 5 kg (11 lbs), and includes an extra keyed slot not found on the SDS-Plus.
