What is the difference between RIM and Injection moulding?

0

RIM or Reaction Injection Moulding, is a process based on the low pressure injection of two polyurethane components (a polyol and an isocyanate) into a mould cavity wherein a reaction takes place which creates heat, higher pressure and a resultant thermoset polyurethane part. Injection moulding is a process in which a molten thermoplastic polymer is injected directly into a tool cavity under high pressure. The result is a moulded polymer part.
