What is the difference between Rhodiola standardized at 3% rosavins and 1% salidrodisides, vs. Rhodiola standardized at 45% polyphenols?
The genus Rhodiola contains many species. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the Rhodiola rosea species is quite different from its relatives in the Rhodiola genus. 94% of all human studies were performed using the Rhodiola rosea species. Rhodiola rosea extract is identified by its Rosavins content and standardized to contain 3% rosavins and 0.8-1% salidroside. Rhodiola standardized at 45% polyphenols is likely not the same Rhodiola used in the studies.
