What is the difference between “Resume”, “Repeat Rx” and “New Program”?
When the pump is turned on, there are three different ways to start a therapy: • Resume should be used if a therapy is interrupted. The pump picks up where it left off, and continues the therapy. • Repeat Rx should be used to hang a new bag and repeat the same therapy over again. The infusion history displayed is reset (volume infused, boluses requested, boluses received, etc.). Shift totals and hourly totals continue to accrue. • New program should be used to program a totally new Rx. All the therapy parameters in the pump are set to factory default and must be reentered by the clinician. The judicious choice of “Resume”, “Repeat” and “New Program” can help speed up programming.
