What is the difference between research assistantship, teaching assistantship and scholarships/grants/fellowships?
All these are different forms of financial aid which could be available to a student at the university. A teaching assistantship involves delivering lectures to the undergraduate class and also some related work like supervising laboratory sessions, correcting class work and so on. Research assistantship involves assisting the faculty in the research activities. Scholarships/grants/fellowships are prestigious awards given to the student for which a student is not required to give anything in return. They could be in the form of tuition waiver or a stipend and so on.
