What is the difference between required, recommended, and optional textbooks?
Professors will use 50-100% of required textbooks where as recommended books will enhance your learning, but are not mandatory. Optional textbooks are supplementary to the course. For example: Biol 231 has three required textbooks, a required lab manual and an optional study book. Two of the required books can either be purchased separately or as a value-saving package.
