What is the difference between RefWorks & EndNote?
RefWorks & EndNote are both citation managers and do much the same thing. Think of EndNote as desktop software that is purchased for one computer with one license. All of your citations are saved essentially on that one computer–you can not access your citations from anywhere else (& hopefully they are backed up else from this one computer). With EndNote, you can work off line and you do not require an Internet connection. RefWorks is an Internet-based resource. It requires an Internet connection, and all of the citation info is saved online. You would have to download your citations on your laptop or flashdrive before accessing your citations without an Internet connection or RefWorks. However, you can access your citations from any computer with an internet connection. Since it is Internet based, it works with any computer: PC, Mac or Linux.
