What is the difference between reflective materials and retroreflective materials?

0

Retroreflective materials are actually a type of reflective material. There are three types of reflective materials. Diffuse, Mirror, and retroreflection. Retroreflective materials are great for high visibility clothing because unlike Diffuse reflection, which scatters the light, and mirrored reflection which reflects the light in an opposite angle, Retroreflection bounces the light directly back at the source. This way, when a car’s lights hit your high visibility jacket or vest, the light is bounced right back at the car making you visible to the driver.
